Here you will find all you need to know about the Lake Conroe area from an insider’s perspective to help you plan your perfect lake getaway.
I grew up on the shores of Lake Conroe in the small town of Willis, Texas. This area has grown up A LOT in the last several years and it has now become a great location for tourists looking to relax at the lake, explore some national parks, or just have a quiet weekend away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
I have just purchased a lake side condo in the neighborhood of Seven Coves, which I am offering for short term rentals, you can find my listing here, or if you are already a guest of mine – welcome! I hope that this guide is a helpful resource that allows you to better enjoy your time at the lake!
Within walking distance of the condo you will have access to a park, playground, fishing pier, basketball court, boat ramp, and a tennis court
Restaurants on the Lake:
What’s better than having a meal on the water?!
The Rubber Duck bar has just opened for the season and it is just steps away from the condo! Located on the other side of the parking lot, near the Sunset Harbor resort, there is a walking bridge that will lead you over to floating Rubber Duck bar.
Closest waterfront bar/restaurant: Pelican’s Cove – usually has live music on the weekends – open until 2 am, you can go there by car (10 mins) or boat (20 mins)
Sam’s Boat, Fajita Jacks, The Back Porch, Papa’s on the Lake, Wolfies – all of these and more are on HighWay 105 in Conroe. They are on the opposite side of the lake, it takes about 25 minutes by car but if you have access to a boat, it is only about 10 minutes by boat from the ramp in Seven Coves and all of the restaurants have docks.
Other restaurants in Willis:
These restaurants are not located right on the water but they are a great option for those who do not want to drive very far, they are all under a 15 minute drive from Seven Coves.
Closest Country Bar: Cactus Lounge, country atmosphere, food, drinks, dancing and pool tables open until 1 am on the weekends and usually has live music!
The closest boat rental is located just steps away in the neighborhood marina. You have to call to schedule with them before hand. Click here for their website, DNS Watersports, and their phone number is (936)520-7604. If you tell them you are a condo guest you will get a 15% discount!
